Merlot Gran Reserva, Colchagua, Vi̱a EcheverrÌ_a

A savoury and earthy style of Merlot showing eucalyptus and red plums on the palate complemented by herbal and coffee tones through to a rounded finish.
The hand-harvested grapes were fermented in 25,000 litre open stainless steel tanks for seven days with selected yeasts, at controlled temperatures of 25 to 28å¡C. Extended skin maceration followed, for an additional six to eight days. The wine then went through 100% malolactic fermentation, before being aged in 225 litre French oak barrels, of second and third use for 10 to 12 months.
