Bourgogne AligotÌ© ‰Û÷Skin Contact‰Ûª, Domaine Pierre Naigeon

Vibrant notes of apricot, pear and peach are complemented by a touch of green tea through to a richly flavoured palate which is beautifully balanced by a bright freshness.
Pierre‰Ûªs philosophy is to make wines as naturally as possible, without additions, creating balanced wines from the outset. The whole bunches of AligotÌ© grapes were cooled for two to four days on the skins prior to pressing, in order to naturally extract the ‰Û÷terroir aromas‰Ûª from the skins. This skin contact process also imparts the wine with richness on the palate. The grapes were then pressed and fermented with indigenous yeasts before being aged for one year in French oak barrels. The wine was vinified in a gravity-fed winery without the use of pumps. The wine was not fined or filtered prior to bottling.
