Chardonnay 'Maggio', California, Oak Ridge Winery

A fresh Californian Chardonnay displaying subtle vanilla notes combined with tropical fruits and melon and citrus flavours.
The Chardonnay grapes were harvested at 23 to 24å¡ Brix, when they had reached optimal ripeness and balancing acidity levels. The grapes were cool fermented in stainless steel tanks at 10 to 12å¡C with selected yeasts, to preserve the fresh and bright fruit characteristics. The wine did not go through malolactic fermentation, to retain the crisp character. Delicate oak influence imparted subtle complexity and a creamier texture.
