Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folati̬res, Domaine Ren̩ Monnier

A full bodied and elegant white Burgundy showing nutty and toasty tones with butter nuances culminating in a long and fresh finish with flavours of lemon peel.
The grapes were meticulously sorted and were gently pressed as whole bunches, followed by static settling of the must before fermentation. Traditional vinification methods were used, the must was barrel- fermented with natural yeasts, before being matured in oak barrels, of which 25% were new oak, for 14 months. Delicate b̢tonnage took place, which imparted texture and complexity. The wine went though malolactic fermentation, before being lightly fined and estate bottled by gravity.
